On July 12th, FSEA Executive Director, Liliana Busuioc attended the meeting of the Consultative Committee at the Customs Service.
Among the most important topics on the agenda were: simplified procedures, customs value, and the customs declarations. The members of the committee had the opportunity to present for examination several difficult situations and suggest possible solutions
One of the main complaints was regarding the correctitude of the data contained in the customs declarations. The errors in the customs declarations may cause significant budget losses. The parties agreed to create a concept of training for customs brokers.
Two new business association have joined the committee. Romanian Investors’ Association in Moldova and the Moldova Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Consultative Committee at the Customs Service is an advisory body to facilitate international trade and aims to promote a dialogue and partnership between the Customs Service and the business community in order to ensure transparency and implementation of international best practices in the customs field.
